For Landowners
If you are a landowner or a land manager, there are many ways that we can work together to create “win-win” partnerships. From tax-saving opportunities to installing nest boxes on your property, we will work with you to create short- and long-term management plans that will benefit your operations and the wildlife that depend on the landscape for their survival.
- Do you have wetlands on your property?
- Are you raising livestock?
- Do you have a plan for how your land will be used in the future?
- Are you aware of the Federal Ecological Gifts and other programs for tax breaks?
If you answer YES to any of these questions, we would like to meet you to discuss opportunities for collaborating

“Our family believes that it is important to give back – to protect our environment – and to make our region healthier and more resilient for future generations. By donating these important wetland areas on our land to Ducks Unlimited Canada, we are making sure that the wetland values on our land will be maintained for wildlife and for the entire landscape.”
David Young, Landowner
“We all know that wetlands are becoming very scarce throughout the country and the world. When we started working with the Nature Conservancy of Canada to restore the wetlands on our properties, it was a little startling to have those huge machines coming in here and start digging around, and afterwards it looked more like a moonscape that anything else. Now it’s turned into a beautiful, greened-up wetland with ponds that are attracting waterfowl. We spend hours just watching what’s going on out there.”
Walter and Carol Latter donated their property near Kimberley, BC, to the Nature Conservancy of Canada in 2014.
